Founded in 2016 by local artists Jessi Bowman, FLATS is a nomadic photography exhibition series held in homes around the Houston area. FLATS aims to create a platform for Houston-based photographers to connect and show their work in intimate, non-traditional settings. Each FLATS exhibition features at least two artists who have not previously worked together in an effort to foster closer relationships between photographers working within the community. By hosting the exhibitions in homes, FLATS allows our patrons to see the work as it might look in their own home, creating a fresh look at fine art collecting and reaching out to new audiences from all ages and backgrounds.
