FLATS offers film camera services with camera tech Sami Jaroudi. Sami is available to look at cameras upstairs in FLATS’ community space most Saturdays from 12–2 PM, but you can also drop off your camera anytime during shop hours for him to examine when he is in.

STANDARD SERVICE PACKAGES:
BRONZE ($99):

This is a basic CLA (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust) service for your 35mm camera, focusing on the core mechanical functions. It includes:

  • Exterior Cleaning: A thorough cleaning of the camera body, lens, and viewfinder to remove dust, grime, and fingerprints.

  • Lens Cleaning: Cleaning the front and rear elements of the lens to ensure optimal image clarity.

  • Lubrication: Applying fresh, appropriate lubricants to the internal gears and moving parts for smooth operation.

  • Shutter Calibration: Checking and adjusting the shutter speeds for accuracy across all settings.

  • Film Advance Check: Ensuring the film advance lever and rewind mechanism are functioning correctly.

SILVER ($149):

This service includes everything in the Bronze Service, plus a focus on preventing light leaks and ensuring the integrity of your film. It includes:

  • All Bronze Services:

  • Exterior Cleaning

  • Lens Cleaning

  • Lubrication

  • Shutter Calibration

  • Film Advance Check

  • Plus: Light Seal Replacement: Replacing the foam light seals around the film door to prevent stray light from fogging your film.

GOLD ($199):

This is the most comprehensive service, including all the elements of the bronze and silver services, along with a full overhaul of the camera's internal protection and performance. It includes:

  • All Bronze and Silver Services 

  • Plus: Mirror Bumper Seal Replacement: Replacing the foam mirror bumper seal to ensure the mirror returns to its correct position without vibration, and to prevent any light leaks from the front of the camera.

  • Plus: Shutter Speeds Check & Alignment

  • Plus: Light meter test & check (make adjustments if allowable)

  • Plus: Dummy film load and check mechanical operation of all gears

  • Plus: Clean attached lens and check aperture functions
